My role running BAYC involved leading a diverse range of content projects, from high-end productions to scrappy community-driven initiatives. I spearheaded innovative storytelling through captivating narratives and hard working informative content.
Throughout I championed DIY content creation by collaborating with up-and-coming production partners and our vibrant global community. This included social media communication and gameplay content to build hype for releases. This collection highlights the creativity, strategy, and impact behind these initiatives, showcasing the unique digital narrative of BAYC.
Trial of Jimmy the Monkey
Overview: A high-stakes, 90-second hand-animated video introducing Jimmy the Monkey, kicking off a new chapter in the BAYC lore.
Challenge: We needed to introduce Jimmy the Monkey, a pivotal new character, and set the stage for an epic storyline that would captivate our audience and seamlessly integrate into our existing universe.
Solution: We partnered with Buck to create a visually stunning and humorous animation, showcasing Jimmy's antics and setting up the saga that would unfold across various media. This video was the first touchpoint, designed to grab attention and spark curiosity.
Results: The video was a hit, garnering thousands of reactions, retweets, and engagements across social media. It effectively set the tone for the upcoming events, drawing the community deeper into the BAYC universe.
The Summoning Motion Comics
Overview: A series of motion comics continuing the saga of Jimmy the Monkey, blending mystery and storytelling to keep the community hooked.
Challenge: We needed to bridge the narrative between the introduction of Jimmy the Monkey and the next major game release, keeping the community engaged and excited.
Solution: We released a series of motion comics titled "The Summoning," telling the transitional part of the story and giving clues about future events. Each issue revealed more about the mystical key and the evolving storyline.
Results: The motion comics were well-received, with the community eagerly anticipating each new release. They sparked discussions, theories, and a flurry of fan-made content across social media and forums.
HV-MTL Anime Cinematic Trailer
Overview: A captivating anime-style cinematic trailer introducing the HV-MTL series, setting the stage for an epic web3 gaming experience.
Challenge: We aimed to build anticipation and excitement for the upcoming HV-MTL game by showcasing its unique characters and immersive world.
Solution: We collaborated with top-tier animators to create a dynamic and visually stunning trailer, blending anime aesthetics with the BAYC lore. The trailer highlighted the game's workshop-based environment and mech characters, sparking curiosity and hype.
Results: The trailer generated significant buzz, with fans and potential players eagerly sharing and discussing it online. It effectively set the stage for the game's launch, driving engagement and interest.
2023 Year in Review Video
Overview: A retrospective video highlighting the milestones, events, and achievements of BAYC throughout 2023.
Challenge: We wanted to recap the year’s events in an engaging and entertaining format, celebrating the community’s accomplishments and setting the tone for the upcoming year.
Solution: We produced a dynamic year-in-review video, showcasing key moments, projects, and community highlights. The video was crafted to be both nostalgic and forward-looking, capturing the essence of BAYC’s journey.
Results: The video was a hit, resonating with the community and boosting morale. It was widely shared and discussed, serving as a reminder of BAYC’s growth and the exciting future ahead.
Dookey Dash Unclogged
Overview: The mobile-first evolution of Dookey Dash, designed to bring the BAYC gaming experience to a wider audience.
Challenge: We aimed to expand the reach of Dookey Dash by creating a mobile-first version that would appeal to a broader audience while maintaining the game's core mechanics and excitement.
Solution: "Dookey Dash Unclogged" was developed as an infinite runner game optimized for mobile devices. It features quarterly esports tournaments with significant prize purses, aiming to get the game into millions of pockets.
Results: The game received positive feedback from the community, with strong engagement and participation in the esports tournaments. It broadened the reach of BAYC’s gaming ecosystem, attracting new players and enhancing the overall experience.
Informative Gaming Content
Overview: A series of informative videos and guides designed to help players master Dookey Dash and HV-MTL Forge, enhancing their gaming experience.
Challenge: To support our community in getting the most out of our games, we needed to create educational content that was both informative and engaging.
Solution: We produced a series of videos covering tips, tricks, and essential information for Dookey Dash and HV-MTL Forge. These videos aimed to help players understand game mechanics, strategies, and optimize their gameplay.
